Why is ZZP Accountant Amsterdam so affordable?

Natuurlijk moet uw boekhouding goed gebeuren.

Our fixed annual price is €960 excluding VAT. For that amount, we handle all standard services you can expect from a good accountant. The rate remains the same, as long as you submit your bookkeeping neatly and on time. Some firms in Amsterdam work with hourly rates. This means you might receive a bill for every phone call, for example ten minutes of advice. As a result, you never know exactly what it will cost. With us, it’s different. You know in advance what you will pay and what you will receive in return. That’s what makes ZZP Boekhouder clear and convenient!

We only work with clients who manage their administration through business bank or giro accounts. Self-employed professionals in Amsterdam who mainly work with cash are therefore usually not a good fit for our services. Do you have any questions or doubts? Feel free to get in touch. An introductory meeting of up to 30 minutes is always free of charge. It’s a pleasant and no-obligation way to get to know each other better.

Yes, advice and support are usually included in the fixed annual fee. For most questions, you won’t pay anything extra.

Only in specific situations—such as preparing documents for a loan or mortgage, or providing additional support with the bank—do we charge an additional fee. Would you like to know exactly what applies to your situation? Feel free to get in touch. A 30-minute introductory meeting is free and without obligation.

Yes, of course! We regularly help entrepreneurs who are behind on their bookkeeping. So no need to worry—we’ll work together to get everything back in order.

Perhaps you’ve left official tax letters unopened or haven’t submitted your tax returns. This can lead to reminders or fines. Don’t worry: our team specializes in these situations. Together, we’ll make sure everything is properly sorted out again.

We can contact the Tax and Customs Administration on your behalf if needed, and we can also assist with objections, extensions, or other administrative matters. If you are facing an audit or tax inspection, we can guide you through the process for a pre-agreed fee.

Would you like us to review your administration together in advance? That’s also possible for an additional fee.

The self-employed deduction is a tax benefit for self-employed professionals who spend at least 1,225 hours per year on their business (approximately 24 hours per week). This benefit reduces your taxable income, meaning you pay less income tax—a great incentive for entrepreneurship. Are you a self-employed professional in Amsterdam and unsure whether you qualify? Feel free to get in touch, we’ll be happy to review it with you.

What are tax deductions for self-employed professionals?

We have extensive experience with tax deductions and can support you with this. Below are some examples:

Disability insurance (AOV) premium

The premium paid for disability insurance is deductible on your income tax return. Please note that the premium is not deductible on your profit and loss account.

How do I qualify for the self-employed deduction?

If you work at least 1,225 hours per year for your own business, you are entitled to the self-employed deduction. This includes not only the direct hours spent on your work, but also travel time, and time spent on quotes, bookkeeping, networking events, social media, and building your website.

Co-worker deduction or employment remuneration for a tax partner

If your tax partner contributes to your business, for example by handling administration or assisting in other ways, and this amounts to more than 525 hours per year, you may be eligible for the co-worker deduction. If your partner does not have their own income, it may sometimes be more advantageous to pay them a salary, which is known as employment remuneration. In that case, the co-worker deduction will no longer apply.

Are car expenses deductible for self-employed professionals?

Many self-employed professionals in Amsterdam use a car for business purposes, and these costs are (partly) deductible. For example, if you use a private car for business travel, you can deduct €0.23 per kilometre from your profit. If the car is registered in your company’s name, a different arrangement applies. Please note: if you cannot prove that you drive less than 500 kilometres per year for private use, a substantial addition (bijtelling) will be calculated based on the car’s original list price. Suppose you purchase or lease a new Volvo with a list price of €75,000. The addition would then amount to €16,500 per year. This would cost you approximately €8,000 net if you fall into the highest income tax bracket. As a self-employed professional, you can also bring a private car of 15 years or older into your business. The major advantage is that you only need to add 35% of the current value. This is calculated based on the lower current market value instead of the original purchase price. Let’s look at an example. Suppose you buy a 15-year-old Volvo with only 200,000 kilometres on the odometer for €5,000. The addition is 35% of €5,000, which equals €1,750 per year. This will cost you relatively little net, namely €866 per year (based on a 49.5% tax rate). However, keep in mind that there is also a VAT addition of 1.5%.

Why is Accountant Amsterdam so affordable?

With us, you get clear, transparent, and honest bookkeeping at a competitive annual price. We work from home and therefore do not incur the costs of expensive office space in Amsterdam that would otherwise be passed on to you. What you see is what you get. In addition, we invest heavily in process automation, allowing you to receive all information digitally at all times. This also saves on paper costs. And let’s be honest: a luxury office with a new car parked outside is no guarantee of timely and accurate financial processing. So why should you pay for it? We don’t pretend to be more expensive than we are. We believe in transparency and honesty. That’s why our prices are competitive, and you receive excellent service. Our focus is on providing high-quality administrative support, so you can focus on your work as a self-employed professional.

Are annual accounts mandatory for self-employed professionals?

Annual accounts are not mandatory for self-employed professionals in Amsterdam, which can be a welcome cost saving. In recent years, a balance sheet and profit and loss statement have generally been sufficient. Fortunately, you don’t have to pay anything extra for the preparation of these documents, as these costs are included in the annual price.
